World-record slides and coasters
It's National Waterpark Day, so have some splashing good times!
Every year on July 28th, Americans of all ages, mainly youth, celebrate this day in the United States. Fun rides and attractions centered around water are available at waterparks, and visitors of all ages will enjoy themselves.
Listed are some of the world's most incredible record-holding water slides and water coasters.
Water slide with the most extended inner tube
The world's longest inner tube/mat water slide may be found at ESCAPE, an outdoor theme park in Penang, Malaysia. When most water slides are over in under 30 seconds, you may enjoy this inner tube's zigzags for an entire three.
Longest water coaster
MASSIV, located at Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Water Park (USA), is the world's tallest water coaster at 24.86 m (81 ft 6.72 in). The tallest water coaster has a 123-step ladder that only the most courageous riders can face. MASSIV was constructed for the tenth anniversary of Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Water Park.
A conventional water slide takes an entirely different form than a water coaster. Water coasters use technology to drive riders up a hill in a roller-coaster-like fashion, while classic water slides pump water at the top of the fall and rely on dips and angles to provide thrill and speed.
Water slide record holder
Kilimanjaro, located in the Aldeia das Aguas Park Resort in Barra do Pira, Brazil, is the world's giant water slide at an impressive 49.9 m (163 ft 0.07 in) in height. After Africa's highest peak, Kilimanjaro can reach speeds of 99.78 km/h (62 mph) when launched from a steep angle.
Attempted World Records at a Waterpark
Even though it's not a traditional water ride, the world record attempts at Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi on Yas Island, UAE, were no less exciting than that.
Attendees of this live Challenge Tour event at Yas Waterworld took home much more than just a case of the chlorine 'fro. Six records related to water parks were offered for guests to try out and, if successful, submit for an official attempt. Among the discs were:
George Massoud holds the record for the most water displaced by a sponge in one minute with 5,928.79 ml (UAE)
Timed at 1 minute, 38.82 seconds, Jacob Cummings has the record for the fastest time to retrieve five balls from a waterbed (New Zealand)
Iryna Suprun obtained the fastest time ever recorded for knocking over ten targets with a water pistol at 13.18 seconds (Ukraine)
Usman Ayyub shifted 2,600 ml of water by hand in 30 seconds, which was the most ever (Pakistan)
